• Update From SAR: It seems most likely that he got in trouble on Mount Perdido. Mountain Rescue says there are hundreds of trails he could be on coming off the north side. Focus looking there on the satellite images all the way down into France.

Ongoing Search SAR

• July 16, 2025 Search and rescue walked 49 kilometers today, tracking his first day route and coming back a different route. It was very well trafficked, so someone would likely have seen him. It seems the second day had more opportunities to get lost. (assumption only)
• Someone who owns a drone company is a distant relative of Cole’s. They are going to the mountain July 17, 2025 to help. They have already spoken to the Spanish Civil Guard and have their permission as well as the guard is going to share any imagery/information to them that they have
• The search effort has been significantly increased July 17, 2025
  • Since last update they indeed started a more exhaustive search (like Pedro mentioned).
  • However, to give some scale to this: there are currently 30 people, 3 dogs, a helicopter and drones looking for him in the are.
  • This is a third of all resources they have at their disposal, so it is really significant.

• Last seen: Wednesday, July 9 at 14:00 when he sent a text saying he had parked his car in Torla, Spain, would put his phone on airplane mode, and begin a solo hike in Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park.
  • The car is in the parking lot of Camping Bungalows San Anton
  • Confirmed it is the car or Cole
  • According to the news article, the last signal on the phone was in Torla.
